I have a 27' iMac and myself and a group are making a documentary using this computer.

We have uploaded countless interviews and it is taking up a bunch of space. I only have around 40 min. left of uploaded space.

Also, I keep getting the 'startup disk is full' message on my computer.

We still have many more interviews to upload. Does anyone have any suggestions, recommendations on how I should go about getting new space for my computer?

Please help me with this.

Thank You.

I would strongly recommend using OWC (www.macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pro series of HD's. You can find them at:

Yes except they are really noisy. I've got three USB2/FW800 EliteALs and two USB3/FW800/eSATA versions and their tiny, little fans are equally obnoxious.
On the other hand I just bough a ThunderBay 4 TB2 box from OWC. It is quite, reliable, responsive and just about plain spectacular.

I put an SSD into my 21" iMac. It's not quite as easy as putting a HD into a PC, but the performance increase is outstanding. Can't recommend it enough.

That's not actually going to solve his space problems, though. I use WD passport drives for external storage and they work fine for me.
