Coming from a iPhone 4 8GB, this generation is a substantial upgrade. I chosed the pick up option during the check out process last night at 10:01 EST and managed to pick up a black 16GB at apple in this morning.
Form factor is great, feels much better in my hands than the 4, even while I'm using safari to write this post, it's also lighter. LTE is super fast and the lightening cable seems to charge the phone faster.
I noticed one defect while inspecting the phone this morning, the chrome part right on the bezel has a tiny chip, only visible upclose to the eye but its still disappointing to expect this type of build quality from Apple I would suggest holding out a little bit before you purchase one, However I would still consider this a suitable upgrade from the 4th generation iPhone.
