Hello,
Hope everyone is doing well.
After using Apple Original silicone cases since the iPhone 7, I am very disappointed.
I got a 14 Pro Max and an Elderberry silicone case.
The case is 3 weeks old.
It was never dropped, never fell on anything and today, out of nowhere it started to peel in one of the corners.

I am beyond disappointed with the quality of the cases this year!
I sold my 13 Pro Max with a silicone case that was one year old and the case looked really good!

The thing is I like the silicone cases because they have microfiber lining on the back and the sides, and that adds some degree of protection the the frame of the iPhone.

With this in mind, I am wondering if anyone here can suggest an alternative case for me to get, hopefully with better build quality and durability, but that protects the iPhone as good as the apple silicone case.

Thanks.
Regards!

look into phone rebel really amazing cases and way better drop protection

So after all those years of loving the case, you get one bad apple (snort) and write it off completely?

I have never used an apple case. Got this same case. Haven’t dropped it. And just noticed the same thing. Alas I also bought from amazon (shipped/sold by) so…

So far, with all the chiming in and opinions, we still don't know what case or who made it!
BRAVO!

I am wondering if its a fake ? I would contact apple and have them replace it since its only 3 weeks old.
I was about to say, it's probably a fake. It's truly astounding how many fake products are floating around on Amazon these days. I had a 12 mini silicone case that was starting to peel after 10 months and they replaced it for free. I would recommend buying directly from Apple if you can.

This is precisely why I buy the knockoffs on ebay

Some of them are exceptionally close to OEM quality, yet usually cost $4 to $9 each

Hello,
Just an update on my case.
I contacted Amazon.es by chat this morning.
I explained the situation and they offered to replace the damaged case with a new one.
They will send me a new one and once I receive that, I can return this one.

Great customer service by Amazon. I am both happy with the resolution provided by them and surprised at the same time.

Hope the new one is of better quality, but still this remains as a Heads up for the doubtful quality of this years Silicone Cases

Good to hear. Hopefully it'll last longer than 3 weeks

This is the first go using an apple silicone case. I was always hesitant to get the official one because of the price. I would usually just go to amazon and get a third party for a fraction of the price.

However, third party while they held up well was just too thick around the borders of the phone. Yes, protection is important but I just wanted a sleeker silicone case as I am careful with my phone to not want a bulky case. I could never find one that had that sleek look like the apple version.

Its only been a few weeks with mine but its held up very well and I really like the look. I will be picking up another color as more colors are released down the road.

Glad your situation got resolved.

My case is rubbing off on the corners after 3 weeks and when I took it into an Apple Store, they told me this is considered normal wear and tear. Which is kind of BS. I would expect it after a few months… but 3 weeks?

Do not buy Apple cases from Amazon.. many high quality fakes out there. One even fooled me before!

They got it virtually identical, down to the creases and how the microfiber lining meets with the leather on the inside.

Oof. Full price?
Yeah. Well I had rewards but…. It said sold by amazon so I figured I’d be good.

I’m going to see how it continues to go. And maybe look for a clear case anyway. Just trying to find one with MagSafe that I like. I usually use cheapo silicone clear cases. But went from an 11 to a 14 Pro Max so wanting to use MagSafe accessories too.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't OP verify whether the case is fake or not by popping the phone into the case and checking if the MagSafe animation shows up or not?

Either way. OP should def contact apple about a 3 week old expensive case that is failing. :(

they simply don't hold up well. I learned this with my previous iPhone 13 Mini. After about a month, they'd start chipping. For some reason I went through that 3 times expecting different results. For my 14 Pro, I went back to my trusty Caudabe Sheath and don't expect to have any issues. And if I do, Caudabe will replace it.

Got my new one from Amazon as a replacement.
So far so good. Let’s see if this one passes the 3 week mark… :)
