Okay, I'm pretty frustrated. I've purchased an iPhone on day one every year it came out. Last year I had to pay $499 for my 3GS, which sucked, but at least it wasn't $699 for a no-contract. But now AT&T is telling me that my ONLY option to buy the iPhone 4 is to pay $699, and that I'm not even eligible for an "early upgrade" price of $499 until December. Why is this? I thought all iPhone customers could pay the $499 for an iPhone 4? Has this happened to anybody else?
