My apple/cmd key just "broke"

Hi guys,

I was browsing with Safari not 2 minutes ago when I tried changing apps with cmd+tab and nothing happened. Now the cmd key works only inside apps, ie. in Safari I can create and delete tabs, close windows and programs. However I cannot change apps with cmd+tab, change spaces with cmd+number, my dock won't come up and all four hot corners are inactive.

I don't recall accidentally hitting any key combinations. Is it possible to somehow reset this withour rebooting the machine.

I'm on mid-2008 15" MBP, 2.4GHz, 4GB, 256MB VRAM. Cmd key behaviour is the same with my external keyboard and MBP's built-in one.

You could try relaunching the Dock; open Terminal and type

killall Dock

Then option + right click on the finder icon to relaunch it.

Is it possible to somehow reset this withour rebooting the machine.

Why would you not want to restart your machine? If you do this, it's incredibly likely that this will solve your problem.

If you're worried about breaking your uptime, you could try logging out and back in again rather than restarting.
