My Apple TV3 will not connect

It has been having intermittent connection drops here and there with ios8 on my iPhone/ iPad (was flawless when it was ios7 era) but since going to iOS 8.1.2 it's been 100% not working from either device.
iPhone 6, iPad mini retina, and my wife's iphone 6 all now on 8.1.2. I've reset network settings on idevices with no luck, I've reset the Apple TV in its menu and restored it to its most current version, and reset my wifi router by powering it down and back on after several minutes.
Anyone have suggestions?

If you are getting Tun On Home Sharing in your Apple TV screen and it is turned on in Itunes. You may have to downgrade Itunes from 12.0.1.71 back to 12.0.1.26. I spend hours on Apple TV not connecting since updating Itunes to 12.0.1.71. Not sure about you other Iphone/Ipad related connections.
