So I just had my appointment and I was quite surprised how normal the store traffic was. It was just like any other day at my location. They had a line system set up but it wasn't needed. Maybe the morning was more busy?
Anyway, the experience was ok. I honestly just wanted to try on different variations and take photos but the associate was trying to make small talk about the different looks. She even was saying she didn't like how the link bracelet looks. While she's entitled to her opinion, I have no idea why she felt the need to say it while I was holding and looking at that version. Maybe she didn't want to fit it for me lol.
I pre-ordered the SS with black sports band but in her cubby she didn't have that combo (odd) and handed me the SS with the black leather band (size L). It was way too big for me as the actual band looped all the way around overlapping the face. I asked if she had a band that fit better but she said that was the only one she had in the SS 42mm size (odd again) and kinda just adjust the leather so it stopped at the watch face.
Bummed I didn't actually get to try on the exact model I pre-ordered but my partner has an appointment tomorrow so I think I'll tag along and hope there's a SS with a sport band available to try on.
With that said, I loved the look of the SS model. The leather band felt nice too, I just wish it actually fit. The screen is gorgeous and operation felt fine. Reviews were saying it was sluggish but from the little I did with the demo units on the side, it seemed just fine.
I did try on the 42mm space gray sport watch with black sport band and wow, it felt amazing on my wrist. Super lightweight and perfect for running and working out. I'm tempted to switch my pre-order but the only thing stopping me is the SS's versatilely with other bands and my preference in the look of the SS.
But man, if you got the space gray sport and are worried it might look cheap, don't. It's pretty sleek. The silver aluminum on the other hand did not look that great to me. It looks a bit "young" and probably looks better on kids, teens and young adults.
Anyway, here are some photos:
