So should I still wait for the 3g version since at&t is planning to extend its 3g coverage or go head and get it =]

i would go ahead and get it ...

I can honesty say I love my iPhone as much today as I did on 6/30/07, the day I got it. Buy two. (That's the Apple stockholder in me talking). :D
