My Book Studio Will Blink and then not power up

As I said I plug my my book quad interface into my mbp and it blinks really quick and then doesn't power up. I heard if it was a power issue you could get a new encasement and it might work. any help would be much appreciated
 
I'm having the same problem with my book premium edition II 2TB, I think I plugged in a daisy chained firewire cable from another running harddrive before plugging in the power adapter, do you think that's the issue ? anyone ?

Also did you find a solution to your problem ?
