OP handed his brother the iphone. Brother sat down and OP moved back behind him. If I position my face where the OP is and hold my iphone where is brother is holding it, mine will unlock too. Not saying they are not both unlocking it, even if not close to each other. There is some resemblance there. But, out of tens of millions sold, we have rarely seen this.

If you look carefully OP is not the one recording. OP gave the phone and stands beside his as you can see his clothing, as his brother unlocks the phone

I wasn't talking about who is recording. If I stand up as OP and hold my hand down where his brother is holding the iphone, mine will unlock. So, who is actually unlocking it?

Better for OP to unlock then move away were we can still see him. Then have brother try to unlock iphone.

Otherwise, I have doubts.

Face ID sucks. I have the X, I just disabled it and just slide up to unlock. Both me and my girlfriend done away with it.

My Face ID experience has been quite different. Security without even thinking about it. My phone just opens all the time with Face ID.

Even Touch ID would fail on occasion with dirty or sweaty fingers.

As far as the video goes the brothers do look similar, but not enough to fool Face ID imo. So if it is true which I think the video is, it does make me wonder how easy it is to fool it with not only twins but facial similarities.

Face ID is incredible and I used to be it’s biggest hater.

That guy is so lucky to find a friend to open the phone with. I’ve held my phone up to hundreds of strangers faces, no luck.

Yeah i didn’t even watch the video. Was just stating my opinion about it. Wish the iPhone 10 had the option for Touch ID.

Furthermore, the OP doesn't even elaborate anything about the experience with his brother unlocking the iPhone, only to post a video With him standing directly behind, which Face ID captures his face. This thread is not indicative of anything.

I just had my X to unlock using NO ONE. Just hold it down and to the side (about the location in video) and it will unlock. So the brother sitting there is irrelevant since it sees the owner.

That is great, Apple gives everyone that choice. FaceID works so well for me that I do not even think about it. To me it does not matter if it is face or a finger print that opens the phone, I just want it to be secure and fast. Putting a password in every time I wanted to open my phone would be unacceptable but then we all have a choices.

I’m hoping Apple brings back the Touch ID. I will trade my current x in a min for one with Touch ID... for the x2 or whatever it will be called.

Hummmmm wonder what Apple uses in that iPhone 8 they sell?
Probably the same thing they been selling since the 6 as they are all pretty much the same 6,6s,7 and now the 8. I’m talking about a new phone like the X. The 8 is just a boring release.
