Just checked my bank account and it appears Apple has already charged me for the full amount of the 4S. Usually Apple only charges the full amount to the card when the product ships, so does this mean we will be seeing shipping notices go out today?

Yes, you should have it on Tuesday.

Even if it shipped in an hour, Apple would put a hold on it, mid-transit to prevent it from arriving any earlier than Friday the 14th

Umm we all got our Iphone 4's prior to release date so I call BS on "phantom" apple kung fu shipping holds.

I disagree, many received their iPhone 4 last year a day before release.

I'm sorry, I didn't read my own post. I missed where I said no one got their iPhone 4 early last time. I thought I only referenced future shipments of the iPhone 4S. My mistake I guess.

I suggest reading your order confirmation and looking at the delivery date. I'm gonna bet it says 10/14.

Actually, they haven't actually "charged" your card yet. They put a temp hold on the amount of the purchase to make sure you have available credit (or cash if a debit account). What usually happens is the temp charge disappears in a couple of days only to reappear when they actually have shipped...

Yes, it will say the 14th - that's not the point.

With the iPhone4, FedEx delivered 1 day before their posted delivery date and unless Apple slapped their hands for this, it will happen with the 4s.

Well during the iPhone 3GS release, holds were placed. In addition, when you say "we all got our iPhone 4's prior to release date", are you saying every single person that preordered got it on the day prior or was it just you?
