2021 Honda CRV Hybrid. iPhone 13 (mine, driver with CarPlay) and iPhone SE (my son’s). If I am plugged into the main USB port for CarPlay and my son in passenger seat has his phone plugged into the other port, if he unplugs HIS phone at any point during a drive, the head unit acts like I also unplugged MY phone and CarPlay quits out and won’t start again unless I pull over to the side of the road and restart that car or the head unit.

iOS 15.1.1 on my phone. iOS 15.1 on his. Is this an Apple hardware issue with my 13 (I don’t remember this on my old XR), or with iOS 15, or with Honda (god forbid, because that would never get fixed probably)?

Hmm thats a good question. My brother in law has the same exact car as you have and ill have to ask him if that happens to his 12 and my sister 12 as well. I know you listed 13.

Not sure. I asked my sister and she tested this with her Honda CRV Hybrid and works just fine. But then they both have the 12.

Luckily, my 2022 Kia Carnival has wireless carplay so I don’t have any issues with carplay even if my wife connects her phone to it.
