iPod my computer does not recognize my ipod nano?

Hey guys i have no idea whats wrong ehre its been like this for a while now. My pc isnt recognizing my ipod nano anymore. It can charge it but nothin else happens when i plug it in. THis ever happened to any of you guys? Ive tried it on my sister laptop and still the same problem.The do not disconnect screen doesnt come up eather.

USB 1.1 or 2? are you using a pci usb card?

im not sure.. but my sisters ipod is recognized on my computer

I'd take it to an apple store.

ok.. ummm do you guys know if there is a store locator? The closest big city to me in montreal and if there isnt one there what should i do? Send it out to apple?

Have you tried the 5 R's: Reset, Retry, Restart, Reinstall and Restore as suggested in Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod?

no ive already done all that stuff... damn this really sucks
