I just purchased a new 2013 base 27" iMac about a month ago. Whenever I try and move .CR2 files around on my iMac they either disappear when I try and place them in a folder or they will take forever to show up. When I check the folder that they were placed in the folder will be empty but when I do a spotlight search they show that they're in there. However, when I try and interact with them they disappear again!

It's getting very frustrating as my four year old 13" MBP can handle the files perfectly. The only thing that I can think of is that my iMac is running Mountain Lion while my laptop is running Snow Leopard. I can run programs like After Effects like a champ on my iMac but just moving a .CR2 file from one folder to another on my hard drive requires the patience of a saint.

Anyone know if this is a problem with Mountain Lion or should I make an appointment with my local Genius and see if it's just a problem with my iMac? Any help is extremely appreciated as my Google-fu has come up short.
