Where to start...

I bought my 3GS yesterday @ Best Buy mobile, went home and proceeded to play. After a while the phone keyboard started to respond with my finger about half an inch away from the screen. Weird right? So I did a restore and started over. Today it started again. So I make a genius appointment, go in, and of course can't replicate the problem. He sends me on my way and told me that if it happens again to come back... So I'm back in my office and it starts again. Holy crap, there has to be a way to prove this to the genius. In my feeble attempt to think quickly, I have my boss grab her phone (BB Storm - this is the only time I've found it useful lol) and take a video of the keyboard freakout. So I called the Apple store and the Genius manager (super helpful by the way) told me to come in and he'll squeeze me in even though they were booked. I show them the video and they were amazed. They immediately swapped my phone and even had me e-mail the video to the store so they can forward it to engineering. Overall the Apple staff was excellent, and I'm a happy camper...

Sorry for the long post, but i thought it was interesting.

yep, sounds crazy.

craaaaaazzzzyyyyyy.

when is the movie of your day coming out?

I've seen this once before, but on one of those electronic pads you sign when you sign for your credit card, or withdraw money from the bank.

By the time I had picked up the stylus, and got ready to sign, I had already scribbled all over the screen without ever even touching it. It worked from about a foot away. Was crazy! ;)

+ 1 more vote to see the video of this happening on the iPhone.

Wow, that's quite strange. I would have kept it and sold it for a premium, surely someone would buy it! ;)

First time I have seen anything like this! Good thing you were able to take a video of it...

hrm my 3G did that from time to time, but it wasn't bad enough where I thought it was an actual problem...
