So I've been looking for a bag for my ipad and being a bag whore I knew I was going to spend a ton of cash on bags to find the perfect one!:D

I had a list of wants:
Size to fit the ipad, file folders, and a magazine or two.
Zipper close. I'm not a big fan of flaps,(messenger style bags).
Grab handles and a shoulder strap that was adjustable and removable.
Reasonable cost and most important heavy duty build.

I looked a lot of bags and companies. The vast majority have flaps, pass the $100.00 mark. I don't have a problem paying for quality. But it had to be what I wanted.

So, I just decided to have a friend in Australia build me the bag I wanted. He normally builds military style gear and I've had him sew some bags and gear in the past.

So here is the end result!

On the front I went with the velcro strip for adding patches or name strips. Also the PALS allows me to add extra pouches to the front for added storage.

Two zippered compartments (same size)

Four pen/pencil/stylus slots - all various sizes, with one large enough to hold the ipad memory card devices

Last one showing the ipad with the Apple case in the back pocket.
The material color is Foliage Green, with Coyote Brown Interior.
Size is roughly 12 inches long by 10 inches tall and 2 inches wide.

I use to have a small bag/case that looked kinda like that. It was for my old Dell Mini 10. Had a guy make it, cant remember his name or webpage.

Looks good though, very nice.

i like the bag it looks good and maybe you should take to him about building some bags for the ipad market ..

That's pretty much what I want. Durable, padded, not much bigger then the ipad 2 itself (the thing swims in older, laptop bags), and another area to put headphones (looking for over the ear kind now) and a powercard or tv cable. Does this guy have a website? I would buy one, he/you can pm me if you want. Thank you very much.
