My Mother just rang me at my apartment and told me that whilst my Father was on his morning walk he found a 4GB blue iPod mini (not sure of the generation but I presume 2G cause Mum was able to say 4GB pretty quickly and I pretty sure she doesn't know how to access the Settings menu). My sisters checked it for any contacts - none - so it is now sitting in the local police station, registered to us so that if nobody claims it within 8 weeks it's all mine. Cool eh?!?!?

Haven't got my hopes up though, wouldn't put it past the cops to just nick it but hey, it's still pretty cool.

Err, yes I believe that is mine...yes. Definitly mine.... I must have dropped it where your dad found it.

Well actually I believe it's mine.. because I recall seeing you drop yours and his dad was no where near.

DUDE! That is sweet. Boy, would I like to find an iPod mini just sittin' there.

Wow. Lucky! :p ;)

I am sorry, you both are mistaken, as it is mine...I am quite certain :D

I was in wollongong on the weekend and can confirm that i lost a blue ipod mini what was the serial number ;)

Be careful. Police departments auction off "unclaimed" lost property and add the proceeds to their coffers. I'd call the department to remind them well before the 8 week mark that you expect the computer if no one claims it.

I didn't say my Dad was in the Gong, he was walking around in the town where my parents live, not where I live.

Hee hee hee.

I've been pondering this all day, I'm gonna face some interesting decisions if I do manage to get it, do I feel like blue metal today? Maybe glossy white? Is a mini or a regular iPod gonna pull my pants down a bit and if so would the shuffle go better with this shirt?

Maybe I'll put my 3G in my main pocket, my mini in my shirt pocket and my shuffle in my change pocket. But then where will the nano go when I save enough to get one?

Oh, and the cops are going to be getting many phonecalls before the 8 weeks is up. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them...

Apple has hired street teams to plant iPods for people to find, new marketing strategy

... just to get you addicted, and sooner or latter you'll want to buy a 40 gig photo. Definetely a marketing strategy. Not a very good one tho'.

P.S. Anyway, can I have my mini back now that your dad has passed my test of honesty, since I orginally droped it purposely to see how many dads will pick it up and send it to the police.

It's Aliiiiveeee!!!

It's mine, a lovely new blue iPod mini, few little scratches on it but otherwise in great nick.

This has given me faith in the New South Wales police force once again. Well, the guys up here anyway, the rest still have to prove their worth.

If you found it on a Southwest Airlines craft somewhere around the port emergency exit row, then that would be mine :D
