My disc isn't boot able

I bought a copy of windows XP the other day to install on my imac. I was in the process of installing VmWARE fusion with XP SP2 when all of a sudden Vmware Fusion says that my disc is not bootable. I don't quite understand the meaning of this. I paid alot of money for this disc. Can somebody tell me what i need to do to make my disc bootable???

I need some help turning the disc into a bootable one. I really dont want to pay for a new Windows disc, they are sooo expensive. somebody please help me!
