I used this utility called xDock (not sure if this was a good idea or not) in order to change my Dock around a bit. All I wanted to do was change to the "poof" but somehow, it is attached to the left side of my screen and pops out of that corner. I can't get it to go back to normal, even with xDock. Is there some other app that I can use to fix this?

if you are so inclined to mess with the poof, you find the filmstrip for it here:

/System/Library/CoreServices/Dock/Contents/Resources/poof.png

make sure you know what you are doing though! if you want no poof at all, you need to open that with photoshop and make it all black. but i don't think that will do away with the sound it makes...
