I have a MacBook Air about 4 years old. Today the Documents folder in my finder just disappeared. I don't think I lost my files because I can still retrieve them through All My Files. But there is no organization and it's hard to access them. I have no idea what happened. Can somebody help me figure this out and fix it?

Do you mean its missing from the Sidebar in Finder?
Just search for it using Spotlight and then open the folder. At the top, you'll see the icon and then just drag it to the sidebar or wherever you want to see it

It will disappear and become "iCloud Drive" if you turned on cloud sharing.. My computer is the same way. You can get the icon back by cmd comma, selecting the sidebar pane at the top and clicking the boxes you want to be able to view.

hope this helps.
