I just got an email today from Apple letting me know that my Dual 2GHz G5 has shipped.

Dual 2GHz
1gig ram
160 HD
SuperDrive
9600 Pro graphics
no BlueTooth
no Airport

Ordered as a Student Developer on 9/03/03. Not bad, not bad!

so, does the date Apple says it will ship on or before 9/XX mean it arrives at your house that day, or it starts to ship then, and a few days later it arrives?

My understanding is that "ships on or before" means exactly that. They'll (theoretically) have it out the door by that date. Mine was listed as "on or before 9/24" but actually shipped late on the 19th. They say actual shipping will take 2-5 business days. I'm excited!

But I am European and neither student nor developer...bad luck I guess.

My dualie was ordered 6/26, just got the shipping notice tonight (9/20). This finally ends 3 months of checking Apple.com 3-4 times daily to see if the thing was gonna come. Yay!
