Try putting it in dfu/recovery mode and try restoring
1. connect ur iphone and open iTunes
2. hole the power button for 2-3seconds
3. without leaving the power button, hold the home button for 10-15 seconds
4. leave the power button and keep holding the home button until u get a message on ur computer
5. click restore

i tried this and it didnt work the first time, it worked the 2nd time.

thank you very much I'm gonna try this tomorrow, just one question though : you said try putting it in dfu/recovery mode and try restoring. how can i restore before I've connected the device in iTunes ?

If you just dock your phone (and get the error you have seen above in iTunes), you can then attempt a DFU restore by following those instructions.

Google "iphone DFU restore" and you will see what the process does.
