my edge icon has dissapeared.

it was working fine just a day ago and i had just noticed that there isnt an edge icon next to my carrier name anymore. i have t-mobile using the t-zones thing and i have the 2g phone. the internet isnt working but sms is working. would anyone be kind to help me through this? i really dont want to restore because everyone knows thats a pain.

this has happened to me once and i could not even connect to any network. i turned off the phone and turned it back on and it was fine, good luck
