My Experience on Day 1

Ok..after much debate I purchased a 8gb Black 3g iphone at a ATT store. Activation was pretty quick and was out of the store in like 10 mins. This is my take -

Things I like so far-

1. Phone syncs perfectly with my 530i. Address book is transfered to my bimmer without any issues, crystal clear clarity when speaking over my car's bluetooth.

2. Browsing is pretty fast when on 3g.

3. Ipod seems to work flawlessly.

4. Camera takes very nice pictures

5. Email accounts set up with no issues.


Things I Don't like -

1. Safari crashes for no reason (driving me nuts)

2. Sometime when I turn on the GPS, the pointer showing my car on screen moves past the screen, in a sense the map does not move but the pointer moves which makes it to move pass the screen.

Things I HATE -

1. For some reason when I am either using GPS or Safari my phone heats up pretty bad. When I am holding it in the hand I can feel that it's getting HOT (I mean real hot) after 10 mins of GPS or Safari use.

2. Battery life SUCKS

if your new phone is getting that hot,
id say take it to an apple genius and get it replaced.
that doesnt sounds too safe.

I agree with everything you said except the heat. I might not notice it because I have a case, but it could be that I also don't use the GPS feature very much either (may be with turn by turn I would).

Safari crashes a lot though...a lot more than on my iPod Touch. Weird.

awww, an iMedia 3G virgin. i fondly remember those days. anyway, give it a week or so and you'll soon find tons of issues that will surely drive you to MacRumors to vent and cry out for apple to release updates to fix those issues.

tap the locate me button again, so that it turns bright/lighter blue. this will enable tracking mode

I got an appointment to visit Apple store regarding over heating. Will let you know what I find out.
