I bought a refurbished MBP for $1699 on February 8th. We all know what happened today. The same refurbished MBP is advertised today for $1449. I called apple and asked if they would honor the price. The answer... yes! I will get $250 back on my credit card. It took a while to connect with someone, but took 2 minutes to get the credit.

If you have a recent purchase, call them!

how good are the refurbished ones? i get a little worried when i hear that word but the prices are so good...

i would really prefer to get a macbook pro over a macbook

They are certified by Apple professionals to work, and you still get AppleCare. Hakuna Matata my friend.

Most of the post I've seen have been good on buying refurbished. I placed an order for one, the changed it to upgrade the hard drive on Saturday night. Then woke up this morning, saw the new MBP, called Apple they changed my order for to the 2.4, 200GB hard drive. Can't wait.

it's just the same as buying the new one without the white box.. what you;'ll get is the brown box but all things equal in terms of warranty etc!

i was once like you.. afraid to try!:D
