Hey you guys,

I'm on the verge of ordering a refurb 27" imac but not sure which one I should get. I'm not an intense user as far as programs and will only be using the computer for web browsing, itunes, blogging, and using CS programs like indesign, illustrator, and photoshop.

Do you guys think I would need the 27" imac i5 or will I be fine with the ic2d?

Thanks for the advice in advance!

I think the core i5 variant would benefit you the most. I'm not sure what you'll be working on in CS, but they tend to get ram intensive at times, and the lynnfields have higher memory bandwidth than the core2duos if I remember correctly. That could be sketchy though, they both have same frontside bus and dual channel memory.

You also get the upgrade to the mobility 4850, which is probably the best mobility option you can get currently (5000 mobility series isn't much an upgrade) so if you plan on playing a game from time to time, then you could get a slight boost.
