I took the Base 450 Min plan.. added Unlimited Texts so If my math serves me that is 89.99/mo not including taxes. I also went over 136Min so on the LAST day of the billing period I switched to the 900 min plan....as my first mo was a test on how many Mins I would use.

My bill is $309!! Um.... I havent looked at the detail but how the hell can this possible be correct? Ill check when I get home.. thoughts?

One you are charged for the past month and the coming month. All additional bills will be for the coming month, plus any extra charges for the last month.

Also, I believe that the charge is $0.45 per minute for overages on the 450 minute plan.

So 88.99 X 2 = 177.98
136 minutes & $.45 = 61.20
Fees are about $20 per month, plus tax on the everything. It sounds about right to me.

$309 and you're gonna pee blood? Hahaha...you'll die if you see my normal phone bills then.

I bet they hope you forget about the advanced payments when you cancel your contract.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3G (white): Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_0_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5B108 Safari/525.20)

$300? That's unusual?? Hell, my data charges last month alone were $6,700. Of course, that's before adjustment ;) but still.

I got my bill yesterday and it was $314 and change... I called ATT and said it was this fee and that fee and prorate this and that..

Ultimately with little digging they gave me a $75 dollar credit off my bill... So I suggest when you get your bill and its ridiculously high call and you will probably get some sort of credit

P.S. my normal bill is around $180 - family plan with 2 iPhone's and 1 non-iPhone

Mine is $119.. I understand that $18 of that is the upgrade fee, but they have my monthly price at $85.99.. which is $11 higher than where it should be.

I have the base number of voice minutes: 450 which is $39.99/mo
I have the unlimited data for the iPhone 3G which is $30.00/mo
and I choose 200 text messages at $5.00/mo

My monthly total before taxes should be $74.99

I'll be dropping by a store when I get my paper bill.

Call ATT CS. Explain the situation. Tell them you didn't know that minutes were prorated, especially since you switched calling plans within the same monthly billing cycle. Just be calm and polite. Something similar happened to me when I had a similar plan (way back at the beginning of 2004) and I switched plans to a higher minute plan in the middle of the month.

The CS service rep gave me a $100 credit for that month (that's better than nothing). That was the more pleasant Cingular of circa 2004. I do not know how the "new ATT" will respond.

My guess is that a significant portion of that $11 will be taxes and other fees.

$40 = activation fee
$90*2 = monthly service fee + prorated
$61.20 = 136 minutes & $.45
$20 = tax
------------
I think what happened is that since you bought the iPhone at the start of the month, the prorated bill was most of the month + You changed your contract on the last day of the first cycle.

I am a new ATT customer.
450 min
Unlimited data
No text messaging plan

My first bill was for partial month (6days) plus the next month. Total of $97 because the $36 activation fee was removed.
