i'm a mac user since 2005, started with a 12'' ibook i've bought a lot of apple machines in this years. about a month ago i've bought an used ipad mini, just to try the thing. i've always felt that the fullsize ipad was too heavy for my needs, and this little machine is perfect. almost unnoticeable, it's very very light an comfortable to use.
now i spend a lot of time on it, and i actually prefer using the mini than my 13'' air. i've noticed that a lot of apps that are just perfect on the ipad aren't just available on the mac, and it's strange.
i mean, having breakfast while reading flipboard is a joy. i don't have a comparable experience on my mac, and i can say the same for a lot of other applications. reading comics, for example, is beautiful on my mini: i have simple comics on mac (great software btw) but it's not the same thing. the same can be said for sketching: i actually prefer something more like a real piece of paper instead of a graphic tablet.

obviously for content creation (lightroom, photoshop and so on) the mac is unbeatable. but for content consumption, the mini is just perfect.

what i miss? a proper filesystem. or a user space where i can put my media/document files without being tied to an app ( i mean, i'd like to be able to open my images in the camera roll and in snapseed/photoshop without having separate libraries, for example ). i know that we're moving towards a cloud file management, but for now i miss a de facto filesystem on the ipad.
