I'm about to buy my first Apple computer, a 13" Macbook. Anyone have any tips? Is 2gb enough ram for some light video editing? Anyone know of any promo codes to get a discount?

2GB is fine for light editing. If you use FCE or FCP, I would shoot for 4GB. 4GB upgrade kits are cheap (like $65 at OWC).

If you're ordering from Apple, the only way to get discounts typically is either by being a student/educator or a paid ADC member.
