My friend's first Mac returns as ''new'' after every log in!!! HELP??

so my friend bought her first mac a white macbook after my advise..
and what a bad luck!
everytime she turns on his macbook everything looks like new he says...all files dissapear,dashboard and dock look like new and even all her settings goes back to default,like language and stuff...
shes VERY mad and think that macs suck!
i need a very fast HELP PLEASE!!!

She is renaming or deleting her User folder each time she uses it, or something else is causing the User folder to be inaccessible to the OS -- so it creates a new user.

Check to make sure exactly what drive is booting the machine.
Check the Users folder to see what the default User folder is. Are there other User folders?
Is she launching an installer or trying to operate from a disk image?

Damn, that's very annoying if you're switching. I have noticed that macs then to show quircks they normally never show when it's extra embarassing. But anywho, let me ask you: were you with her (I assume it's a she and the "his macbook was a mistake) when she booted her computer? Could it be a user error (although I wouldn't know what could cause that)

That's what happened to me when I renamed my user folder.

DON'T RENAME YOUR USER FOLDER!

Put the original name back on and it should work again.

i got her macbook and im reinstalling the software i know it will work..
thanks guys i know the problem now..she renamed the user folder...
