My FW drive can't write

Since I upgraded to 10.4.7 (from 103.9) my Granite digital FW drive only reads, doesn't write.

It doesn't have to mean that the os upgrade is the fault as my Lacie FW drive does work.

I've repaired permissions and I've made sure that I have permission and access to read and write on this drive.

How can I fix this? Please.

When I verify the drive with disk utility it appears to be fine.

single right click the drive. press and hold apple (maybe command, not at my mac at the moment) key and the "i" key. on the left hand side of the window, expand all the tabs. look for the words "I can" with a drop box next to it, if it doesn't say read and write change it to it.
