My G5 Airport Addon Wierdness

I just added the Airport Extreme module from the Apple store and I noticed when I take off my cover on the G5, my reception bar goes up and when I put the cover back on, I get almost 1-2 bars at most.... sometimes no reception at all...


Did I do anything wrong?

Did you hook up the external AirPort antenna dongle thing? I think the aluminum case blocks out the signal...that's why they include an antenna!

(I could be wrong, though--but try it!)

I did add the extrenal antenna (my mac is a far away from the router) and I do get 2 bars, just tried removing the panel... and I get 3 bars... so it makes a difference off course... and when I remove my antenna, I get no reception when its closed... wich is quite logical ;-)
