I was having lunch today and my phone made the "new mail" chime. I was confused so I pulled my phone out. To my surprise there was a (2) on my mail icon and sure enough I had two new emails.

A very welcome improvement!

Um, how do you know that that's push? By default it checks every 15 minutes. That's far from push...

I'm going to assume that you have the mail settings set to fetch manual and not after a certain amount of minutes?

That was fetch buddy. Depending on your interval, it was its time to check for updates from the server. You apparently check your email every time before the fetch interval, so this is new for you. Gmail does not push. I would know.

Huh? That doesn't sound unique unless you have fetch turned off. Do you?

EDIT: Seriously, 4 replies while I wrote that?
