Hello,

My home just bit the dust....! HomeKit that is!

I have two apple tv's (a second gen and a new 4k), a HomePod mini, and maybe a dozen smart switches. All was working well... until I tried to get my HomePod mini online again (for some reason it wasn't quite working or connecting), and I hooked up a new dimmer for my outdoor lights (I used the same brand I had used before with no ill consequences).

Now none of my non apple devices are connecting. I restarted the entire house (I just flip the master fuse in my box), I checked my Apple TV for being up to date (it is), and I am at my wits end.

What do I do to get my house running again?

I can't stand home kit's unreliability...

Ha...

This is such an aggravation, but I "solved it" by updating my iPhone, and then the home app spent some time updating the "underlying software in HomeKit".

Such a nuisance, that the entire home stops working when it needs to be updated...

Regardless, now all works. (till apple decides it needs to be updated again....???)

I always start with my iPhone to update, wait a day and then my Apple TV which is my main hub. Then if everything is working I do my Home Pod mini's one at a time. Lastly my Mac after I see if people are having problems or not.
