Step 1: Save the attached image onto your iPhone and mark it as a favorite.

Step 2: Open the Photos app on your Watch.

Step 3: Tap to open the image.

When you reopen the Photos app on the Watch it should default to the last viewed image.

UPDATE: Used this method last night to find my way from the bathroom to the bed, and it worked great. When I turned my Watch away from me, I simply just tapped the screen to turn it on.

I also realized that the Calendar glance is mostly a white screen, and has the same effect as the plain white image, so I might try using the Calendar glance tonight to double as a flashlight.
