my HP Photosmart B109 does not scan

hi,

I recently bought a new Mac Mini, and with it I got an HP B109 for free. Yahoo!
today I tried to instal this printer/scanner.

place CD, instal. everything was ok. Mac found the machine and installed.

but when I was done and tried to scan something. it suddenly did not find the scanner.
on the other hand when I inserted an SD card, it automatically opened the HP programs and started to download al the pictures to my mac.
when I tried to scan by first using the scanner. it opened the programs on my mac, all automatic! but... did not find the scanner.
I did not trie printing yet... I´ll have to trie tomorrow.

does anybody know what could be the problem?

on the internet I found that HP products and snow leopard don´t like each other. is this still the case?

Use preview to scan your document or Image Capture. that is what I am using with my Officejet 6500 and it works like a charm..

I would love to, but I don´t even get that far!

first I open HPPhotosmart Studio, press the scan button.
and then the program starts looking for the scanner.
the turning wheel bottom left, starts turning... and thats it.

strange thing is, that when I was installing the software he did the same thing but found the scanner.

or is there an other program I could download that works?

tried to print today... works like a chram.

also made a copy without a problem. so theres nothing wrong with the scanner.
Could it be because I´m not using the original HP usb cable?
its the same kind of cable (with an extending piece)... i think? its usb and fits.
or can there be a difference?

Hmm Strange, didn´t do ANYTHING different and all of a sudden...
oh wel, it works! great!

Install the current HP update from Apple.
