Hey all. I have a mac running 10.3.9 and my iCal crashes everytime I start it up. Is there something I can do that will reset iCal so it will open again? Please help. I tried to repair permissions but that didn't help. Any ideas...

Try trashing the iCal preference file ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.ical.plist (where ~/ is your users home folder).

If that don't help, see if iCal works from another user account on your machine (make another account if you have to).

Hm...I tried that and it still crashes when it starts... any other ideas...

Does it work on another account...?

If so, maybe one of the calendar files is corrupt. Move all the calendars out of ~/Library/Preferences/Calendars/ (I think it was under Panther), then try to start iCal. If it starts, quit and then move one and one calendar back until iCal won't start. There you have the broken calendar file...

Edit: Too slow... nice to hear it worked... :)

As much as I don't like to see people with broken programs /data...
it does remind me to backup. Haven't done that for a while - off to do it now.

Hope you sort out why iCal keeps crashing mate - and hope it doesn't take a re-install.
