Hi guys,

I just noticed that the size of the backups of my iPhone and iPad are suddenly both around 30 GB. This was never the case before. They were never bigger than approx. 1 GB. What's going on here?

Here's a screenshot of the backup menu on my iPad:

Why are the backups so big suddenly?

Thanks.

EDIT: I erased all backups and made new backups from scratch and now they just take up 2 GB in total. Very strange.

Quick update: I have this issue again. Suddenly my iPhone X backup is around 35 GB. I seriously don't know what's going on. Anyone knows the reason for this?

EDIT: Is there maybe a bug where it back ups the photos in the backup (which SHOULD be separately)? Just a guess but my photos library is around 30 GB.

EDIT #2: It seems like my devices back up something weird because: Normally the backup size of my iPad is 700 MB. When that's properly done it says that the "next backup size" is around let's say 50 MB (this behavior is normal I guess). But: I just disabled the backup again, deleted it, re-enabled it and did it manually and it was 30 GB again. I then went into the settings and the "next backup size" was 700 MB. It seems like the 30 GB are something completely weird and not the actual data that should be in the backup (700 MB).
