My kids have this super cheap little Vivitar mini camera that comes with it's own USB wire. I connected it and the camera beeps when it is connected but the iMac does not seem to see it. I see no icons on my screen that show it and iPhoto does not open up to download any photos.

How can I download the photos that are on it.

What model is it? Does the camera use removable media? If so you could use a cardreader. Otherwise I would imagine it would need OS X drivers. Check the Vivitar website.

It does not have removable media and all it says is Vivitat Mini Digital Camera on it....... No model number. I'll see if I can find anything on the Vivitar website
