I dripped a few drips of water on my keyboard today and I wiped them off real quick...

Somehow, I hit something that has turned on some sort of speech program that tells me what window I'm in, it reads my email to me etc. it has ALSO turned on the F4 for widgets etc.

It's cute for about 5 seconds and then it becomes annoying.

Can someone tell me how to turn it off and get my function keys back? I've looked everywhere I can think of.....

HELP?!?!?

I thought it was Apple(Cmd)+F5
Funny, it's different for me. Are you on a notebook (that would certainly explain the difference).

For me, I need to press fn+cmd+F5 to activate voiceover, but then just cmd+F5 to turn it off. ...But since the OP was trying to turn it off, not on, I decided to just edit out my comment.

Thanks everyone! I turn it off, and I think I'll be able to sleep tonight without keeping one eye on my iMac to make sure it's not trying to kill me or anything!!!:D

I didn't know Voiceover was available!! Scared the crap out of me!!! :p
