Kansas city, Missouri.
I just bought a new Imac about a week ago,
and I've been really amazed by it. since my last computer was a 13" macbook from 2007.

But about twice a day, It will freeze up.

I've left it for about thirty minutes, but I eventually I have to shut it down
and restart it.

It doesn't seem to matter what I'm doing when it happens,
It's happened when I'm browsing Itunes or google chrome.
and playing very simple 8-bit games?

OH and I've cleaned it with onyX,
but it's still freezing up.

Did you try running AHT? Reboot your iMac while holding down the "D" button and let us know what is the results.

Your in your 14 day return period bring it back swap it for a different machine.
Keep doing it till you get one that your satisfied with.

I'm not sure what aht is, I did try a onyX but I don't know enough about it to diagnose it, I definitely am going to take it to the apple store to see if they now what it is.
or to get a another.

Nothing happened when I rebooted it and held D down, I'll probably try again tomorrow though.
