It was fine when my iMac ran on OS X Lion, but after I've done the upgrade to Mavericks, my internet suddenly disconnects on a regular basis. It happens usually when I'm downloading or updating software, but it doesn't seem to follow any specific pattern. I'm sorry, I know this question has been asked to death already, but none of the fixes I see mentioned on the internet seem to work. If anybody could tell me how to fix this, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I'm a newbie so forgive the following rubbish, BUT
I had the same and I have at least a partial cure
Are you using an office network with several devices using one router?
Do they all have separate internet addresses? What or how are they allocated? You might have a conflict.
Is the Router hot or over warm to the touch? You might have a failing Router
Try resetting the router and waiting for a new connection.

Good luck
