All week I was debating buying an ipad 2. We are sharing one laptop within a family of three. I have an android smart phone, but this will be our first iOS product.

I decided I wasn't going to wake up at 4:00 am to order it, but then the dog woke me up to go out at 4:04, so I thought, what the heck. We were looking for something very portable. I thought a lot about the cost, and while we can afford it, I am always worried about spending money on a product that will be outdated in a few months.

By 4:15 I was ready to check out with my black 32gb wi-fi ipad2, hit the final submit order button, then my laptop kind of froze.

My laptop, running windows 7, shut down for an update, which took about half an hour. Having been through my share of unrecoverable machines, I tend to follow the “Do not shut down while updating” message it gives you. WTH? Is Bill concerned about a tride and true MS family moving to the dark side? Does he know we are currently debating the merits of both an iphone and a windows seven phone (after a brief and very disappointing affair with an android device)? Is he worried that this will just be the start of a slippery slope? Am I just being paranoid?
I was able to order my ipad2 by 4:58 EST.
