Hi,
I just noticed that my iPhone 11 Pro Max’s mute switch is a bit loose when it’s on. No issues when it’s on ringer mode, but when it’s on silent mode and I put my finger on it, it moves slightly and makes a little rattle sound. The switch still works fine and I currently have no functional issues with it, but my concern is that it’ll get looser over time and cause malfunction. Is anyone else experiencing this issue with your iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max?

Had that kind of thing on a couple of past iPhones. Seems like they worked fine over the years.

So in comparison to mine, when the mute switch is _not_ engaged, it’s also slightly loose. When I engage the mute switch, it’s locked tight, so I wouldn’t be concerned if there’s some side to side play. It’s probably just a manufacturing variance.

Thanks. It's relieving to know that this is not very uncommon. Fortunately there's no rattling sound coming from the switch when I shake my phone near my ear, so (hopefully) it seems like it's not loose enough to cause a problem.

One of my old iPhones (think it was a 5S) had a very loose power button. It literally rattled if you shook the phone. Worked fine, though, and never had to have it seen to.

Mine has this too. With it being a £1200 phone in my case, I am going to try and get a replacement as I’ve only had it for a month and I’m not really happy about it. I’m going to take it to apple in the next few days and ask to either replace or fix. If the replacement model does it, I’ll be okay but considering they all don’t do it, for example my friends doesn’t do it, I don’t feel like I should put up with it when I spent so much the same with you actually I advise to try and take it back to apple to repair or replace. Especially if you are in your 14 day return period. I also noticed with my phone that sometimes, very rarely that I cannot replicate it, the phone randomly switches to loud/mute without pressing the mute switch.

the switch on mine isnt loose. I just checked it after reading this and whats funny I dont know if any of my previous phones ever had a loose switch. However most were always in a case so I dont think it would be that noticable in the cut out for the switch. Had my phones not been in a case it might have been noticeable I would think.

The switch is quite firm on mine.
I think the decision to take it to the attention of customer service is up to you. I don't think it is going to get any worse in the future, but if you are very picky about that, you should try to solve the issue until you are still under AppleCare.
