My iphone 4s is dead, but it wont charge.

So yesterday i plugged in my iphone to charge it, it went from 1% to 100 in a couple of hours, when i unplugged it and used it for a few minutes it jumped down to 1% again, i plugged it in, and it went back to 100, after that i later plugged it in hoping it would charge and it never did, it showed the lightning bolt symbol but it wouldnt take a charge it just slowly died, now its dead and it will not charge at all, i had left it charging all night last nihgt in hopes it would work and this morning it was at 1% but died within a few minutes, does anyone know what the problem could be? i tried multiple chargers in my phone and a friends and they worked in his and not mine.
