Hi,

I recently bought a used iPhone 5 and it was working fine but battery only lasted about 1 hour.

So i purchased a new battery off Amazon and swapped the battery over, new battery did not work and neither did old one when i swapped back. Doesn't turn on, nothing on display.

I think i must have damaged 1 or more of the cables connected to the screen, it definitely flipped it back more than 90 degrees at one point.

Here is what i have tried to get it running -

Plugged in charger but got no charging display.

Holding the on/off button for 30 seconds as well as both on/off and home buttons for 30 seconds.

It connects to iTunes and i did a restore within iTunes.

Charged new battery through mains for 1.5 hours and it's currently charged to 90% within iTunes, both old and new batteries charge.

Tried calling my number, it rings but i got no sound from iPhone.

Also tried "find my iPhone" but iPhone is offline and never plays a sound.

No buzz sound when i switch the ring/silent button.

I initially thought that i could just replace the screen and it should work but now i am not sure because i hear no sound from the phone. Not sure if i should still try a new screen or just buy another phone?

I would really appreciate any help because i just bought this like a week ago, i watched tutorials on how to swap the battery but i never knew it was this delicate!

Thanks
