Now in my hands, I can say that iPhone 6 is single handedly the greatest smartphone to come out since the 1st iPhone.* It’s perfect.*

First off, the question EVERYONE asks… "Is it too big"?* Answer: No.* I have medium sized hands and it fits like an extension of my hand.* It’s like a lightsaber or magical wand or something.* Do I have to stretch one-handed?* Only when I’m typing with one hand.* The rest of the “one-handed” features are just brilliant.* Ugly implementation, but brilliant.

Next question: "Is it bulky in my pocket"?* Answer: Not at all.*I do not feel like I’m lugging anything around.

Just how fast is it?* OH, IT’S FAST.* The biggest and most surprising is my Wifi AC connection.* I bought an Apple Airport Extreme AC Wifi Router a year ago in preparation of this day (seriously I did)… and to be honest I wasn’t expecting much - BUT FINALLY, the iPhone has caught up with Desktop surfing.* My biggest example is downloading apps from the app store and surfing the net.* It’s lightning fast and never has it been this fast before.* I am shocked, and very VERY happy. It’s so dang fast! Perhaps I feel this excited because I’m coming from a 4S.* I suppose this day was 3 years in the making.

Seriously, how beautiful is it?* iOS is hands down the best “all around” mobile OS ever, and iOS 8 being built for the iPhone 6, is a perfect marriage.* Have I noticed bugs?* Not really, no.* Everything works and works quick and perfect (so far).* The screen and iOS 8 is just gorgeous on this phone.* Because the screen is 5.5 inches, the display is perfect and you see a lot of it.*

My favorite feature?* Right now it’s the iOS 8 usage on the 6 Plus vs. the other iPhones.*It’s kinda like an iPad in some regards and I LOVE that.*The keyboard in landscape is AWESOME, because it has more dedicated buttons - no more clicking that “123” button.* The browser (Safari) is like the iPad browser in landscape. No matter where I’m at, if I’m in landscape, everything else is too.* So if I click the home button whilst surfing the net, my home screen is landscape.* Multi-tasking, landscape.* Email, like the iPad, landscape.* Messager, like the iPad, landscape.* I can’t tell you how much I am enjoying that.

Well it replace the iPad Mini?* Unfortunately I think so.* I say that with much regret. I LOVE MY MINI, but the 6 Plus is like an iPad Mini “Mini”.* Superior camera, nearly identical screen size when watching 6:9 movie, important apps are like the iPad’s, easier to tote around, can make calls natively with it, perfect screen… yeah, I think it’ll replace the Mini.* I LOVE MY IPAD, but IF I get new one one day, it’ll be the full size version.* I guess I should phrase it like this, IF you have an iPad Mini and get a 6 Plus, you kinda have two iPad Mini’s.* Will the Mini die?* No.* There’s plenty of people that hate the iPhone and love and have the iPad (Mini).* Mine will now be less used, though.

The cons?* It’s "slippier".*I use it with both hands, like an iPad, but when I do go one-handed… it almost feels like it's designed to slip out of your hand.* Like holding a fish, or that tube water balloon toy thing we had as kids.* Remember that water balloon tube/worm/snake thing?* Now we all know that iPhones (phones in general) get a case.* After much reading and video watching over a week’s time, I opted for Apple’s leather case.* I hate cases… hate them. I never had one on my 4S for 3 years and it’s fine. I used Apple’s bumper for a bit - but that’s it.* It’s survived rigorous usage and 2 kids.* Apple’s leather case is supposed to be really good and I have no issues with it so far.

Final thoughts?*Finally I feel like I have a computer in my pocket.* I can’t begin to tell you how much of a real statement that is and how important to me that is.*Due to work, I can be considered a "power user" of my iPhone.* I LIVE off of it now than ever, as me being mobile is more important now than ever.* I can stop lugging my Mac Book Air, iPad, and iPhone around in half of my mobile situations.* That itself is worth the upgrade - to have a computer in your pocket with seemingly desktop speeds.* Also, I LITERALLY feel like I’m holding magic in my hands.* I remember feeling this way back in 2007 the 1st iPhones came out.*It was like a magic portal of information in your hands… and it’s like that all over again.*

Well it replace the iPad Mini?* Unfortunately I think so.* I say that with much regret. I LOVE MY MINI, but the 6 Plus is like an iPad Mini “Mini”.*

I use my Mini for Kindle books, and will continue to do so.

iOS 8 is littered with bugs and you don't need to dig deep to find them. Especially on the 6 Plus.

Good review!

I too never used a case before except for the bumper for a short while. And I bought and returned the Apple leather case because it didn't slide in and out of my pocket nicely. I got a Spigen case instead for $12 from Amazon (Prime 2 day shipping) and really like it. Same cut as the Apple leather so bottom and top are open and I can still dock it on my Phillips speaker in the bathroom. But I also got the clear case and it lets me still see how nice the phone looks. The other nice thing about using a case with this besides the fact that it still goes in and out of pocket easily, is that it covers the camera ring so that it lies flat on its back. There is also a small lip at the front so if you lay it facedown it doesn't sit on the screen though that was never an issue with my 5. And with all the rumors of the 6 Plus being more susceptible to getting warped with its size, this hardshell acrylic case gives me a bit more comfort in protection than the Apple leather did.

Thanks for taking the time to share your review with us.:) I bought a LUVVITT Case that seems to offer good protection without increasing the size much. While I don't feel I have an actual computer in my pocket, it is a better combo of iPad and phone. Reading is much better than regular sized phones -short of a mini though- and multimedia, from games to video, is really enjoyable. The speakers are loud as well.

Does it lag? Yep

I don't really care if it's "not that bad" or you can't notice it. It does.

Like it or not, a hallmark of iOS has always been that it is smooth. The + rejects that in favor of a 1920x1080 screen that downscales everything it displays (meaning the "desktop class" scalers have to work, causing the lag).

Every day you own a + you are compromising a lag free experience for a bigger screen because Apple didn't want to wait for the right 5.5" screen. I understand that's "worth it" for some people... I just don't find it acceptable for a brand new device that has never had lag issues in the past (no matter how small).

Enjoy your +. It's still the 2nd nicest phone on the market even with the issues. Well, phablet, but that's another issue entirely.

so far my 6+ has replaced my mini, the current battery usage for the mini since the last full recharge is 6 days standby, 7 hours of use...and its at around 85%....
The majority of that usage is background mail/calendar/app store.

Me too. Sold my mini 2 weeks ago :)

True.dat. The number of iOS 8 bugs is astronomical. Including my favorite on the iPhone 6 Plus: The ability to rotate the home screen 180 degree. Yeah, useful..

Yep, to me that's a bug. :)

Oh, and on a side-note, the crashing to the Apple logo. :p

So true...especially annoying when taking the phone out of your pocket as it usually goes in "head first"

Not bad, but ultimately the best long form reader is an actual e-ink Kindle. Either a Paperwhite or a Voyage. iPads are superior for magazines but nothing beats e-ink for books. Nothing.

Not everyone likes e-ink. To my eyes, e-ink lacks contrast, and strains my eyes more than an LCD screen.

When was the last time you tried one? E-ink screens have advanced over the years. The Voyage has a great contrast ratio.

Haven't seen the Voyage yet, but tried the Paperwhite from last year. Will probably give the Voyage a look BestBuy gets display models.

Still, even if the Voyage screen is as good as an iPad's, right now I'm not seeing a point in having a separate device just for reading books. I might feel differently if I read outside a lot, but most of my reading is done inside, and for me an LCD screen works better than e-ink, so not likely I'll go out of my way to get a Kindle.

Yes. MEGA annoying as I pull the phone out of my pocket, unlocking it with Touch ID as I do so. It throws me for a loop every time the display rotates 180 degrees.

My 6 plus lags a big with loading date. If im on tumblr, for example, its really slow loading. Thats on wifi and ATT. My wifi never seemed to take so long to load things before so im guessing its either the app or the phone itself. Im gonna wait until 8.1 to wait to take it to apple to have them test for speed. Other than that, i agree with everything you said and its probably my favorite phone

Interesting* Review* i* would* also* like*** to have* an* iPhone* 6* plus* one* day* he*he*he*He*HE*H**H*E*H

I don't see how people think they are getting better internet speeds due to a faster wifi radio. If your wifi radio was ever your internet speed bottleneck then you have some insane rates.

I honestly haven't encountered these bugs others are talking about, and neither has my husband.
