I live in the bay area I was in bart on my way to san francisco. The bart car was completly full and the seat I happen to be in next to me was empty. This fool happen to sit next to me my iphone was out. i was doing a puzzle(so stupid! of me) any who im getting ready to put my phone away when the ******* snathes it out of my hands and runs as soon as the doors open for embarcadero station pushing people away. I chase after him i dont know why im like 5'5 and hes 6'1.. I guess i was in shock, I just yell out like grab him!! people just didnt do nothing wheres bart police when you need them right?
but if you live around here and catch bart especially if your a female hide the pods and the iphones, the touch etc. cause these no good a waste of space desperate money hungry *******s will probably even kill for it.It happen to me it could happen to anybody. so careful guys. oh yea i was wondering can they break in to the lock code?

I don't think they can break into the phone if there's a phone. But they can always guess the code, there's only 9999 posibilites!

What their probably going to do is restore the phone, which removes the code.

Sorry for your loss.

Your lucky....... the person who stole mine walked into my front door gate and had a knife demanding I give him the phone or else I would get stabbed.

That really sucks man. I think the only way to break the code is to plug the iPhone into the computer it's synced to, so I don't think he'll be able to use it.

Just go out on Friday and reward yourself with a nice, shiny iPhone 3G. :D

That's terrible! :(

Unfortunately, the passcode only locks the screen.

You can still sync to a computer.

Therefore, they can use a program to get your information form the iPhone.

Then they can restore the iPhone.

If only there was LoJack for iPhone :(.

Just curious, if this person does unlock the phone and tries to activate it, wouldn't AT&T still need the serial number for the phone? if you reported it stolen to AT&T, I'm sure they would have a way to flag that serial number.

How much you want to bet they will develop a program just for that...using the GPS receiver. Could easily get a fix on it's position and report it back to LoJack.

Sorry to hear about your loss. That's gotta be a sign to upgrade though.

man, so sorry to hear about this. the best thing to do is remember that karma is real, and someday that ****** will get what's coming to him ;)
