Well, I've completed my iPhone accessories buying spree (my initial one, at least). Here's what I got:
Marware's CEO Elite flip-open black case. Works pretty well, although the end tabs bend a bit more than I like (looks like they may wear out over time, so I'll have to keep an eye on it). Only thing I'd like to change is adding a small pouch on it to hold the earbuds and maybe the gap for the headphone jack could be on both sides (it only works if you wear it on your left side, I prefer it on my right side).
Got some Belkin tuneties to hold my earbuds.
For my car, I got a Proclip iPod 3G holder to hold onto the iphone in my car. I already had a Belkin Car Charger Plus that I paired it with to use the aux in on my Alpine head unit. I'm still using my iPod interface on the Alpine for my 3G iPod, since it can hold all my music. But I've taken to watching David Letterman on the way to work (well, mostly listening to it, but with occational glances) on the iphone.
Only bad thing about this setup is that the Iphone always complains when I hook it up that the belkin car charger isn't made for the iPhone and I have to touch the 'no' button everytime. Very annoying.
And for my home, I bought 2 15-foot USB2 extensions. Since I prefer to keep my phone next to my front door so I don't forget it and Apple didn't think wireless syncing was needed (at least not yet), I ran the extension cables around my wall to the front entry. Works well, but wireless would have been better. Cables just seem so last millennium.
Still a little worried about scratches, but really don't want the extra bulk of a silicone case. So far so good and hopefully the marware case will be enough.
