So, a couple weeks ago I was in Amsterdam on a boat docked on the side of a canal watching the Pride parade. I was taking a picture and someone knocked my arm. My iPhone X went flying into the air and splashed into the canal... seemingly in slow motion. I asked the captain how deep the water was and I thought he said 10 meters but I've Googled around and it seems the canals are typically 2 - 3 meters deep. I mentioned to the captain that my phone just went in the water. He asked that someone call it, which a friend did and he dove down looking for it. After a couple dives he said he was unable to find it... the water was murky from the parade. I'm familiar with diving and from the way he was going down, it seemed it could have been 10 meters. When the parade was over, our boat went down the canal and back. We went on our way, me minus my phone. Apparently, the captain took another dive after we returned and retrieved the phone. He contacted our group via Facebook asking who had lost the phone... I met up with him the next morning.
So, long story short, iPhone X dropped in canal (very minimum 10 feet deep) where it stayed for about 4 hours. And, it never stopped working. Here we are 2 weeks after the fact and its still working. I do have a case on it... its the white, rubber apple case with the apple logo on the back and suede'ish leather on the inside.
